Projects Past & Present

What’s going on production people? This time around, I’d like to talk about a completed project and a new idea I have rattling around in my head.

My first project ever (created 7 years ago) was the short unrequited. It’s the story of a man who has been hopelessly in love with a woman all his life, but never tells her until her 90th birthday. That film is what got me my first OSU Homegrown award. Make sure you check that one out. I always look at that one as “my baby.”

I have been kicking around an idea for a new film, but I don’t have a title yet. I’m calling it Sarah 1, because the female lead kind of reminds me of Sarah. The new story centers on a news reporter who winds up interviewing an up-and-coming supermodel who stood him up when they were in college. That’s all I have so far. I think this can expand easily, though.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Isaac Reynolds, and I am the CEO of InfraRed Films, a production company located in Columbus, OH. InfraRed Films has won the annual OSU Homegrown Film contest for the past 6 years, which is how long we’ve been in business. But enough about InfraRed… (shameless plug)

This blog was started because many of my associates and friends suggested it. I honestly think they’re just sick of me talking to them. So this will be my new outlet to let off steam and talk shop! Lucky you!

My last project, “Juice,” was wrapped up in August of 2017. This project had the biggest budget of any of my 9 films, and that allowed me to use the RED camera with the Monstro 8K brain (www.red.com). The project came out beautifully, but I’m glad my boy had the camera, because I don’t have an extra $54,000 laying around to pick one up. It’s incredible, but 54K? Come on… I’ll get there some day, but someday ain’t today!

Now I sound like Sarah. Who is Sarah, you ask?

Sarah has been my best friend since we were in the third grade. I professed my love to her (as any red-blooded eight-year-old would do, right?), but she turned me down. Yet we have remained friends since then. A few years ago, she moved to Chicago and went to law school. So now she’s a big-time lawyer, but we remain close. But what does this have to do with anything?

Okay. First blog post is done. Didja like it?

Seriously???

So, the other day, I told you Sarah asked me to call her. Needless to say, I called back. Why did I do that? If I had...
